Reasons for using silver fir

Elegant appearance: the silver fir room shows the nobility of a living space, the room becomes the furniture; interior joinery is silver fir in part: optical element, warmth and cosiness, natural material, local raw material

The visitor becomes acquainted in the showhouse with a further and specific facet in the use of silver fir.

OASYS is an abbreviation of “open architectural system”. In its application, it is described as a system with a thousand possibilities. It is the creation of the well-known architect Oskar Leo Kaufmann, and was developed by him as a system house in timber.

The showhouse in Alberschwende, Zoll 887 was erected by Berlinger Holzbau for their own marketing purposes. Contrary to many private houses that are also of a silver fir construction, visitors are welcome here. We indicate the silver fir room in respect of the silver fir in the system house. An especially cut veneer of the silver fir was chosen.

Contrary to many veneer variants, the veneer is flatly sliced and thus shows what is an unusual structure for the silver fir. The noble appearance comes to special expression in this process. In this way is created a natural, refreshing and vital room feeling. In comparison, rift-sawn silver fir veneer has a placid, noble and decent appearance.

The Idea

According to our ideas, the future of building should become simpler, innovatively richer and more reasonably priced. 1.2 metres is all that you must take into account when planning with oa.sys.

According to our ideas, the future of building should be simpler, innovatively richer and more reasonably priced without the necessity of relinquishing quality. Architecture should be intelligent, amusing and above all personally definable by the customer. With oa.sys we offer you a system that invites one to “undertake” individual architecture.

1.2 metres is all that you must take into account when planning with oa.sys because the oa.sys system elements are based on a 1.2-metre-wide scheme. The standard lengths vary according to element (wall, ceiling, one- or two floors, and naturally according to the building’s depth).

You can place all elements, which are manufactured by Berlinger Holzbau according to the highest quality criteria, next to or on top of each other, to choice. In short: what you want is what is permitted.

With oa.sys you have the choice. Prefabricated windows, sliding windows, doors and duo-pitch roof elements are available additional to the basic element. The elements are 30cm thick and fulfil all technical requirements. All elements produced to a high level of quality are delivered complete to the building site and erected in the shortest possible time on the foundation.
