Südburgenland Plus
| The LEADER region of South Burgenland comprises the districts of Oberwart, Güssing, Jennersdorf and nine local authorities in eastern Styria. It borders on Hungary in the east, Slovenia in the south, and Lower Austria in the north. This is an extremely peripheral area with a GDP that is only 59% of the average for Austria. In the last few years, the LEADER region has developed into a hot springs area. However, with the technology centres in Pinkafeld, Güssing and Jennersdorf, it has also been possible to improve the basic conditions for commerce and industry. |
