| The LAG Nature and Cultural Heritage, Vorarlberg includes the valleys of the Montafon, the Great Walser Valley, the Kloster Valley and the Bregenzerwald as well as a few bordering communities. A problem for the development of the region is the high number of commuters and the resulting brain drain, few acquisition possibilities for women as well as a lack of suitable areas and the infrastructure for businesses. The intact and authentic cultural and natural landscape in the state is among the many unique potentials for the LEADER region. This is emphasized by the Bio-sphere Park in the Great Walser Valley and the efforts being made to put the Bregenzerwald on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Talking about the Bregenzerwald: An ambitious development programme was successfully carried out in the framework of LEADER II, with the highlight being the "Cheese Road, Bregenzerwald". |
