Integrative Tourism

Document Actions
"Integrative Tourism" is a chance for development for regions that don’t have a lot to offer tourists. The regional economies as well as regional organisations were integrated into this offer for tourists. Because of this, the amount of offers has increased and the guests experience true originality and the additional added value guarantees jobs. Using the experiences in the Pielach Valley as an example, the local people involved report successes as well as stumbling blocks.

An excerpt from the regional development plan for the Pielach Valley (2001):

“In the framework of the views about the eco-cycle, the ecological situation of the region should be optimized and at the same time, prepared as a leisure / tourism product, that can only be enjoyed here.  The local agricultural products and the typical valley landscape are the endogenous requirements needed to produce products and services, like regional carpentry work or tourist services, with the help of external know-how and within the scope of projects.  The quality of life of the citizens should be guaranteed by a lasting guaranteed cultural landscape, through regional products derived from the region, and the economic development related to the area.

In the framework of tourism development that has been integrated into normal valley life, an additional economic potential can be developed.”
