The small medieval town of Murau also has all sorts of wooden specialities on show.

The Tourist Information Centre, which is almost free-floating, the unconventional Mursteg bridge or the beautifully revitalised town hall continually astonish visitors. Also worthy of note are the Rantenbachsteg bridge, whose span can be lengthened or shortened, Europe’s only timber multi-storey car park, or the beautiful wooden verandas of the old town.
