Historic timber route
|
|
Programme items: • Short tour through the main house of the Styrian wood museum, where historic wood objects are exhibited and historic working methods are demonstrated • “Kötzlmühle”, a fully-functional mill, although no flour is ground here these days. The miller (in original costume) brings the old times alive once more though, through his vivid storytelling! • “Brechlhütte” (flax workshop). Here we show you how flax was processed into linen in bygone days. • This is followed by a visit to the “Stockerhaus” in Schönberg-Lachtal. This farmhouse originates from the 18th century, and with its exhibits, it provides an authentic insight into living and working on a farm in a time long gone. Finally, we drop in at the cosy “Forellenstüberl” at the Gellsee lake. The tour is guided by one of our trained "timber world ambassadors"
