The private family dwelling of the Nenning family is located in the village centre of Hittisau where there used to be an old desolate building.  The new house was built with regards to the village landscape with a similar cubature and structure, from Silver Fir timber.

Directly on the village square in Hittisau, on the longitudinal axis to the church, a three storey wooden building fits harmoniously into the village surroundings.  The liberal two storey living quarters of the owners is on the south side of the building with a smaller apartment on the north side.  A small village shop opens its doors to the village square on the ground floor, whereby the private living area faces away from the village on the peaceful west side.

The house was planned by the two architects, Cukrowicz and Nachbaur-Sturm.  Construction was started in 2001 and took two years to finish.  Most of the construction was carried out by the owner himself with a master carpenter using local timber.  The gross area of the building is 480 m².  Hermann Nenning was consistent in his use of Silver Fir for the inside of the house.  The ceilings, walls and floors are all Silver Fir, which guarantees for a high quality of living and a feeling of well-being.  The facades on the outside of the house were also made of Silver Fir. 

Hermann Nenning used Silver Fir consistently for the interior of the house.  The ceilings, walls and floors are all made of Silver Fir wood.  He is particularly proud of the rough hewn floors that trigger a sense of well being and a high quality of living.  The Silver Fir shows it qualities on the outside as well.  This is why the facades were also made from Silver Fir.
